    On call as an RN was 9.50 an hour at hospital. If called in, paid regular rate for a minimum of 4 hours.

    No live classes. Interaction is completed via discussion board. Sometimes there are video supplements to the reading/learning for the week. I really enjoyed the program and felt challenged.

    New grad jobs can be hard to come by in the hospitals, but not impossible. Starting pay at hospital is anywhere from 28-31 an hour as a new grad. To get into l & d, you may have to pick a different area then transfer after 6 - 12 months. Enjoy ...

  9. Yes, several people questioned why. I found the most resistance cam from those who did not have a MSN yet... needless to say, the ones I have talked to that are positive about it said the work you do as a NP is totally different as a RN. So really ...
  10. I started my 2 year prerequisites in 2007, and graduated 2010, started my Bsn the semester after and graduated 2012, Started my MSN FNP the semester after and now have 1 year left... I haven't taken a break from school yet...
  11. I say go for it... that's what I did, and I got a job while in school, so when I graduate, I will have experience under my belt. Plus, continuing education looks great on a resume! Good luck!

    I'm working on finishing my fnp as well. While primary care sounds intimidating, I think your gut feeling is right with this scenario. If it was my decision, I would do the primary clinic.
