  1. NCLEX Question

That's different. Many programs offer the LPN route mid curriculum. That's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about taking a program, and taking NCLEX before graduation.
  2. new grad offered nurse manager position

No, you didn't. When I say bedside experience, I mean as an RN. No other experience compares.
  3. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

Honey, I'm not angry at all. An internet message board is incapable of making me angry! And yes, I do like back and forth banter. I'm good at it...
  4. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

Everything I posted was helpful, you just refuse to hear it. Again, you might want to calm down and watch your anger. It isn't healthy.
  5. Would you give this order?

I guess I'm confused. So what if it caused the pt to be sleepy? Phenergan always does that. And? The poor lady was nauseated to the point that she had to be hospitlized. She needed those meds. Now, that's not your fault OP. Your preceptor steer...
  6. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

Lol. I never accused you of anything. You are overly sensitive and that may be your problem. You seem to be quite angry as well-another problem that doesn't bode well for you. And of course, anybody who disagrees with you is now a know it all! Lol....
  7. new grad offered nurse manager position

Sorry. But I still stand by what I said. I was a PCT for 10+ years in the same place. I Knew the ins and outs of that place like the back of my hand. Now that I'm a nurse, I can tell you-without any bedside experience you have NO idea of what it'...
  8. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

Sounds like you only wanted to hear what you wanted to hear. You just dismissed any other responses that you didn't agree with. That kind of attitude will not help you in nursing school. Good luck with your career...
  9. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

You know, I've learned from new grads, our unit clerk, the dietition, the PT students, any and everybody. I've taken advice from students, as they are armed with really recent information. I've taken advice from nurses with 30 years of experience, an...
  10. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

2 Things... 1-Yes, I was talking about nursing students with my post. Unfortunately for you, a CNA who is also in nursing school does know more than you. They are actively studying these very things. 2-Yes there is a right or wrong way. That kind ...
  11. EKG course before ACLS? Worth the money/waste of time?

The key word here is 'review'. Do you know your rhythms now? If you aren't comfortable being able to quickly diagnose a CHB, or you haven't taken an EKG course previously, then you need to take the course now prior to the ACLS class.
  12. Know It Alls: CNAs and Nursing Students- How To Handle?

I agree. Being a nursing assistant for only a year is hardly any time at all to be an expert. I was a PCT for 10+ years and I NEVER considered any part of my job 'routine'. I didn't know anything at a year out compared to what I knew at 3, 5, 7 years...
  13. NCLEX Question

No, you cannot take boards until after school is over. The BON needs proof of you attending NS before they allow you to test, and your school won't do that until after school is over.
  14. new grad offered nurse manager position

I would never in a million years work for a manager with no bedside experience. You would have NO idea of what it's like to be a nurse. I stand by what I said earlier...new grads are nowhere near competent enough to be managers.
  15. Blanching arterial line???

Lol, my pts are crawling in off the street...they don't have medical records. They are getting it after a few days of picc flushes. I see you posted one article that says it's recommended. I bet I can find 10 that says it's not. I really don't car...
