Hi castern and Dee from Norcal,
I interviewed with them late December. What department did you guys interview for?
Was anyone offered a position in either Sharp Chula Vistas Labor and Delivery or Postpartum unit?
Hi mixie ,
The best site to go to is: http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/rnprograms.shtml
Scroll down to the list for BSN degrees and look for AFT = Accelerated Fast Track.
I was in the same position as you not too long ago. I was just completing my last year in bio when I decided to pursue nursing. I decided to finish my degree since I only had a few classes left to take. After I graduated, I enrolled into a accelerated BSN program.
Nursing is an amazing field and I don't regret pursuing it! Good luck to you in whatever you decide
Has anyone heard back about the Perinatal Special Care Unit? Haven't heard anything since filling out the screening questions that were emailed.
Anyone get called for an interview with them?
In addition to what has already been mentioned: Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to Sociology or Cultural Anthropology. Not sure if those are requirements for your school. I recently completed my second degree too and those were requirements for me.
Thank you for the tips and kind words of wisdom. Congrats on getting a job I graduated in CA with my BSN in May 2011. I never knew it would be this tough to land a job. Its been hard, but I'm really trying to stay optimistic. Thank you again. This thread really helped me!!!
Has anyone heard any news after taking the battery test?
Does anyone know how long or when's the last week/day they will be sending out emails for the second round? Has anyone received rejection letters yet?
Hello! Does anyone know when we should hear back about the position? Has anyone's status changed or heard back about an interview?
No, they said they would call in the next two weeks if I am getting an interview though.
Hi everyone...I'm also taking it on the 26th Honestly, I don't think you can really prepare for the test. It's a situational & behavioral assessment and can be subjective.
Im scheduled to take it on the 26th as well.. How are you prepping for the test?
I applied to Southwest Healthcare System New Graduate RN Program in Murrieta, CA for the Med/Surg position. I received an email recently and was invited to first take a Nurse Career Battery test before being considered for an interview.
Has anyone taken this test before? I tried calling HR, but they wouldn't answer my questions about the test or how to prepare for the test. I just want to make sure I am fully prepared to take this test. I've been applying to new graduate programs for several months and this is the first time I've been contacted about a potential interview. I've researched online and the only thing I found was pdf from the DDI company that distributes the test with facts about the test..
It seems like it's a multiple choice test, but I'm not sure because I've read on other threads that there are situational type questions..Are there essay, or NCLEX like questions? Any feedback about how to study or prepare for this test will be very much appreciated!! Thanks!! Good luck to everyone that applied
