Speaking steth's, has anyone ever used or tried the "ultrascope", I'm thinking of buying one but wanted some input.
You might be a nursing student if....
You watch "SCRUBS" and check out the type of steth's the doc's/nurse's are wearing, double or single tubing??? LOL!
Doesn't make for a good t-shirt but this happened to me last night! :wink2:
My wife and I just got accepted to nursing school, I got a late call about 3 weeks ago because someone dropped out and my wife got the late call on Monday because someone else dropped out, we start Sept 6th. Anyhow we went shopping for scopes and just couldn't decide. My wife really likes the look of the "ultrascope" has anyone ever used it? Is it anygood? I was thinking of the Littman "Classic II" What is everybody's recomendation.
I am required to wear the zip up mock thing, white, with the school patch on the left shoulder. I agree it does remind me of an ice cream man, we have matching white(uh) pants, white shoes, white socks and of course white underwear. Oh and on a good day you can wear a hunter green polo shirt but you have to wear a white vest with a patch on the left chest area. I am a stain magnent, I going to have to buy stock in clorox..
I start my first semester in a Week and we were required to purchase White scrub pants, White shoes, and our scrub tops are Navy Blue. Patches of course are required, and a White Lab Coat. Though why the coat is required is beyond me. I am a hot natured person and that's gonna kill me since when I inquired I was told it must be worn at ALL times. I know its for ease of identification and all that but damn.
I can't complain too much though, my partner went through the same program 4 years ago, when the Zip Up Shirt smock thing was required. He became known as "The Ice Cream Man". His class petitioned for reforming the dress code and they got it done. Guess it's better than the alternative.
I do special fx make-up for a hobby, Tattoo cover up make-up is made and should be available at a local theater make-up shop. I have 3 tats two of which might be visable whith scrubs. My school has a policy that they should be covered and that a person can only have 2 ear piercings one in each ear .
I have a tatoo on my wrist and it has to be covered at all times in nursing school and clinicals.the problem is trying to figure out what to cover it with.Any clues????
I'm at Ohio University Zanesville and will be taking micro starting Sept 6th, I don't know what book or books yet but I called the bookstore and was told there were 2 of them both over 120.00 each. I'm also taking foundations in nursing 1, nursing communcation, nursing assessment 1 and pharmacology 1, all of these courses are required for the first quarter of nursing at OU-Z. When I added up the cost of all the books I need , 6 just for foundations in nursing, it will cost over $700.00 for the first quarter.:angryfire
Does anyone know where on-line you can get books without having to use a credit card or a checkcard? I don't have one they got me in trouble be4!
I'm in Las Vegas, Comm. College of Southern Nevada. Start Micro on Sept 6th. Lab is ZERO credits. Lect is 4 credits. Got the prof I wanted! Were using Nester's Micro book. Got it new on Ebay for $70 incl shipping!
I start nursing school in the fall also, I've thought about the digital recorders but I didn't know how long you can keep the recording and how much time you can record. Any help would be great.
Hey, I'm worried about retaining information too I think we ought to just take it one day to see how out minds keep all the info. P.S Do you have a digital recorder? They are wonderful. I tape my lectures and listen to them while I'm cooking, cleaning, giving kids a bath, laundry and taking walks for exercise. They can hook right on to the top of your shirt so you can multi-task.
Best of luck and happy school days!
I applied to two schools for their ADN programs, one of the schools admit 2 times a year Spring and Fall the second school just started admitting 3 times a year Spring, Fall and Winter I applied 2 times to the first school and 3 times to the second. ON Tuesday July 18th I received a phone call from the second school offering me a spot in the Fall class, someone had dropped out. I am so excited! Hang in there prayers are answered.
