   It refers to an RN (usually a licensed new grad) who will accept an RN/UAP position and transition from an unlicensed assistive personnel position such as a clinical associate to wait for an RN position to open up. Thats how it was explained to me.

   Yes, I was told that by the NR as well. When I spoke with the unit manager, she told me she has a desire to hire RN/UAP but doesnt have a position open for an RN but that could change based on someone taking maternity leave. I really like the unit :)...
