  3. Nursing Home Interview Help

It is really difficult as far as work history. I just had an interview at a LTC facility as a ADON, I am a BSN nurse and have a sketchy history in the NF and have been in UM/CM approx 6yrs. I had the behavioral type questions, like in the past how h...
  4. Telephonic Case Management

I know this thread is old, but, I started in an ins company doing UR and moved to CM. I am now looking to move on from that as I have been doing this for 6 years and I am one that likes constant challenge and learning new things. Not to say CM is not...
  5. Any cons toward accepting a UR position and leaving bedside?

I think having the hospital experience is what you need to be a CM in a hosptial. I started in UM at an insurance company as I have no hosptial experience and moved to CM, got my CCM after working a year. the pros are for me: holidays and weekends ...

  9. Advice needed, please!!!!!!

I have been in CM in insurance for nearly 7 years, I cannot get back into bedside nursing as no one even calls.... . I would get some good RN bedside before going to CM, you can do the CM in the hospital...that being said, never turn down an intervi...
  10. Whats next after doing CM?

Unfortunately I work at a regional office and this is not possible, but I am glad to have the information as I may be able to take it to a different company!!!
  11. Amerigroup?

Glad you like it. I worked for them in the UM dept, now work as a telephonic CM for another insurance company. I felt the pay was good and they acutally listened to my suggestions.
  12. Veteran Nurses...

Well, I worked LTC and got a job as an RN in a community hospital when I got my RN. However after that I was not even called for hospital jobs when I went from hosptial to LTC. Now I have been a case manager since 2006 and I think, they may be laugh...
  13. Can an ASN RN work in a Hospital?

I just wish it was an option to use my BSN in the hosptial because they won't hire me over the new grads. I was a CNA in 1995 got my LPN in 1998, RN-ASN in 2004, BSN in 2010. I have only briefly worked in the hospital and despised working LTC so did...
  14. Mixed feelings about interview

It is difficult to get into the hospital after so many years off-I have been in Case Management for 6yrs and they won't be calling me either. It is good that you got the interviews at LTC as I cannot even get them to respond for an interview. First ...
  15. The Unemployed RN

I agree with many of the posts. I hear in the news there is a shortage of nurses...where? I have been a case manager at an insurance company for the last 6 years and the hospitals won't even call me for a job. I am willing and able to work at age 3...
