  1. BSN or NOT

Actually, I have done several months of research and met with a university, a college transfer representative, and spent time on the phone. All universities require classes such as Microbiology, Statistics, Ethics, Nutrition, college transfer chemist...
  2. BSN or NOT

Hey guys...thanks. I have decided to take the job. My gut instinct was the job, but I just wanted to poll others for their opinion. I'm excited about the job offer I received. As far as the 6-7 year estimate on BSN, I was basing it on getting my pre...
  3. BSN or NOT

Thanks to you both for the advice. It isn't the actual BSN program that will take the time, it's getting the seven pre-req classes I need before I can even transfer into the program.
  4. What's Your Best Nursing Ghost Story?

man....interesting. I know this is weird, but I've always wanted to go into an old aslyum.
  5. What's Your Best Nursing Ghost Story?

    Oh my...that is scary
  6. Wanted to be a nurse after high school, fell into the party scene and didn't finish my pre-req. In my twenties, I got married(horrible idea), got pregnant(the greatest gift of my life), and then I got a divorce. I went back to school did very well in...
  7. I did my preceptorship in an ED and was amazed at some of the cases I we saw. Mainly clinic type complaints, including pregnancy tests, all of which are more costly in the ED. I don't get it. I guess if you don't have to foot the bill, it doesn't mat...
  8. What's the weirdest baby name?

It takes all to make the world go round.
  9. Help! I can't decide where to work...

I agree with a prior post, shadow the new facility and then make a decision. Good luck with whatever you decide and congratulations on having a choice.
  10. My 5-Year-Old Son

Aww..so heart touching. Our children are the ones who give us strength, who lift us up when we are down, and who are always there for us.....they are the gift that we have been given. It will always be amazing to know they want to, "be like us".
  11. Became pregnant before starting nursing program

Take time to enjoy your new baby. The pre-req courses aren't really that beneficial, except maybe anatomy, which the nursing program will build on. Do what is best for you and the rest will fall into place.
  12. Nursing as a first degree

Go for nursing if that is what you want. There is a nursing shortage and if you have the grades, there is no reason why you won't get in.
  13. I'm excited and just needed to tell someone! :)

    Congratulations!!! What a great feeling.
  14. which career path to take

Slow down and take one thing at a time. Enjoy your family, get your LPN and then your RN. At that time decide about going back to get your BSN. Either way, it will be an interesting ride that you can enjoy, while still seeing your family.
  15. Pregnant and Worried New Nurse

I'm a firm believer in, "what is meant to be, will be." Keep your head up and things will work out. This is a true blessing for you and your family.
