Five openings in Tucson AZ! I came in with nearly a year of med. fragile HH and adult med prior. If interested, PM me ? GREAT UNIT to work on, with a huge team effort. We are never alone, teaching hospital and always someone to lend a hand/help out. ...
  3. Relocating to Arizona

Banner UMC Tucson Main campus has med surg spots open. I'm not sure about low census but it is usually far and few between in Med surg. I do know that they are actively recruiting nurses for the unit currently. I'll PM you the other info.
  4. Relocating to Arizona

I work for Banner in Tucson. It's a large system, with many options for locations in the Phoenix area as well as two in Tucson. Honor health has a presence in Phoenix as well as N. AZ. I'm happy at Banner. Benefits are a little pricy but a great cove...
  5. Banner New Grad Experience

You should get a call from a recruiter as the next step. I was just offered and accepted a position at Banner UMC (Tucson). I applied to west valley, east valley and tucson. My recruiter handled some Phx area hospitals and tucson as well. They'll ask...

I'm so glad someone kicked up this thread from the trenches ?! I start in the nicu in a few weeks! Level III I can't wait! Graduated in May and have worked in tele/ortho and Pediatric HH (Medically fragile). NICU was always my end goal so I'm beyond...
  7. Absolutely terrified

FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED!!! There are so many areas of nursing that don't involve being on the floor with multiple patients at a time. Home health, hospice, private duty, clinic, insurance companies. Find an aspect of nursing that you are more comfor...
  8. Does AZ always pay lower than states with unions?

Yep. Cost of living is definitely a factor. I don't blame you for wanting to get out of the grey gloom! Love Oregon but it's too rainy for me long term.
  9. Arizona Opportunities

Not sure if you're considering outside of the Phx metro area, but if you love the outdoors and fishing, consider Lake Havasu City. Level III trauma center, and 45 miles of lake front plus the colorado river on either end. Hiking, biking, offroading, ...
  10. Lake Havasu City, AZ

I actually start there in July, but already moved over from NM right after graduation earlier this month. Everyone I've met is really friendly, the ER is being redone completely, and the nurses I've spoken with say they're workload is heavy during sn...
  11. Guidance and insight moving from AZ to OR with young family

I'm a new grad (soon to be) that has applied to Klamath Falls (Sky Lake Medical Center). We've spent a lot of time in the area. Sunny for Oregon, small town atmosphere, but still accessible. Cost of living is lower than the coastal cities, so that is...
  12. Dell Children's Nurse Residency July 2018

I'm driving over from NM. Leaving tomorrow after class! Which session are you going to? Good luck!
  13. Resume review, please?

Take off the References Available line. It's no longer considered necessary from what I've read. As a new grad, they'll automatically ask for letters, usually later in the process.
  14. Resume Feedback PLEASE

I'm in the same resume boat at the moment, so i'm not much help probably. Just wanted to say that I jumped from photography (now stress-relief) to Nursing, and volunteered with NILMDTS too! Good luck!
  15. Memorial Hermann gn residency summer 2018

I can't attend this one as I'm out of state and have clinicals on Friday. (SW NM) Feel free to fill me in after LOL! Good luck everyone!
