Congrats guys, can't wait to meet you both! I'm actually a new BSN grad in CT (or will be shortly, my past life is in community psych) so the license is not an issue but I've heard the CT process isn't too bad. Physical and labs are a bit of a pain in the... Let me know if you need help with suggestions for places to live. New Haven is a great little city but there are definitely areas you want to avoid and some of the suburbs can be pricy/are far from campus.
I got in one other program but decided I really couldn't say no to Yale. How bout you?
I am in for the Psych track, anyone have any idea how many of us there are?
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but in my assessments course I had similar directions for an assignment and got a good grade by following this guide:
Hope it helps! In general, I've found Purdue's site super helpful for my APA formatting questions.
I need to write an APA format style paper in "Outline" form.... I have been searching Google for 2 days , seriously I have spend hours and hours trying to figure this out. I know how to write the typical APA paper... but I am not sure about this Outline APA style.... And being that nursing schools are OCD about all things APA... I am hoping there is someone here that knows what to do.
I have completed the actual interview and have all my notes... so I know what needs to be included... I just am stressing about...Spacing.. titles subtitles, bullets,...how to format the interview portion... SN asked "Blah blah," Pt answered "Blah blah" ect....
If anyone has a template or knows where I can find one I will be super excited and forever appreciative.
Thanks for taking the time to look over this post.
I'm applying too for the Psych/Mental Health specialty. I'm curious, what other schools is everyone applying to as well? I know I'm definitely going to apply to Yale too, but other than that I'm not really sure where else.
I feel like I definitely need a couple safety schools as these programs are really competitive. Maybe Regis? Northeastern?
Thanks UVA - I'm hoping to practice in CT, NY or MA so I'll look into the differences in those states.
apocatastasis - What don't you like about it UT's program?
I'm looking mostly at direct entry programs
I'm interesting in pursuing an APRN with a concentration in mental health. I'm currently in a Psych program getting my MA and will be done next December. An APRN appeals to me because it allows you to be the whole package in treatment in terms of having the option to use psychotherapy, medication, or both - without having to go to medical school - which is pretty cool.
I've been researching different advanced/graduate entry programs and was wondering if anyone had any opinions or suggestions on different programs - or advice on getting into them.
As of right now I really like what Yale and BC have to offer (although I'm not sure I can get into either)
