  1. Direct Entry Programs- How hard to get in?

Wow! You guys are just firing on all cylinders! Congrats to all of you! I just talked to the husband of our new Bishop, and I'm going to be applying for a year-long Certificate in Theological Studies at an Episcopalian Seminary in Berkeley, CA. Heck,...

Congrats to those of you with the Right Kind of letters! So, for the next year until I reapply to UCSF, I'm going to do a Certificate in Theological Studies, because I might wind up going to seminary in a few years!
  3. I suppose so. In general, it seems odd to me that there isn't a more powerful national representative body in nursing. It's exactly the sort of field that needs it. Oh well, another thing for me to learn.
  4. This does raise a point or two: Moderators: I looked through the ToS and didn't see anything that talked specifically about quoting or use of posted content by media. Is there one? Should there be one? Nurses: personal opinions about the death penal...
  5. I just got my rejection letter from UCSF for the MEPN program. It was the only place I applied, because it's really the only place that's got a program that I'm interested in. I'll try again next year, but now I'm trying to figure out what I'll do ov...

OK, I just popped home to check the mail. There was a letter from UCSF! But it was a No, so it looks like I start working on other plans for the next year and apply again in the fall. *shrug* I reckon I'll start this evening off with a :beercuphe
  8. It's a public forum, so yes, generally. If this encourages people to be more responsible with what they write, then I think that's probably commendable. And, in another note, whether a nurse believes in the death penalty or not, it's still a violatio...
  9. Direct Entry Programs- How hard to get in?

Just called UCSF. The letters went out thursday and friday, with a few on monday. She couldn't tell me my *personal* status over the phone. Wouldn't be right. Call back if I don't get it by next tuesday. I'll be frank with you all, this was a terrib...

*sigh* still nothing in the mailbox from UCSF. I could have *driven* down to pick up a letter at this point. Hmph.
  11. Direct Entry Programs- How hard to get in?

Wife just called from home: STILL NO LETTER. I am going to kick the letter carrier so hard in the shins if a letter doesn't arrive tomorrow. Doesn't UCSF know I'm on msn messenger most of the day? They could just IM me!

That's great news, Seahorse! You're in to a program at least! Hooray! -Chris, Still Waiting For The Mail

Congratualations! My wife and I didn't exactly elope, but we had only our immediate families and a handful of friends at ours. 12 guests altogether. My good friend Devin was the Deacon (his last job at our cathedral before going back to Massachusetts...

Not for me. I'm an out-of-state student coming down from Seattle. I get the $12,000 extra tab! Part of me thinks that even if I do get in this year, I'll spend a year establishing residency down there and try again. Hmph.

Just got home. No mail from UCSF today. /me kicks the Post Office in the shins. Anyway, how on earth am I going to pay for $35,000 tuition if I get in?
