Ben Taub is not just an ER it's a level 1 ER. Very busy place to work! I actually work in the sister hopital of Ben Taub. It seems a lot of RN's like it there. You have to be able to work fast and work under pressure!

"I'm hungry" as soon as they get there. We tell patients that we don't feed people in the ER unless it's medically necessary. This drives me crazy! The ones with abd. pain 10/10 eating chips and drinking coke. This is when we inform the DR. that ...
Thanks for the info! I already work in a very busy ED. I work in a county hospital level 3. We have er holding-obs and I love it! Still curios what nurse to pt. ratio is. I don't think HR could tell me that.
Has anyone worked at Shands ER? I currently live in Houston, thinking of moving to Jax to be close to family. What is the pay rate and pt. ratio in the ED? Thanks for your time!
