   If we can't take a meal break within 5 hours of beginning a shift, we claim for overtime until a break can be taken. If we are on call during that time eg theatre/recovery on a pm or weekend with one team on to cover acutes, so cannot leave the buil...

   In our hospital we have ready made iv bags of 1000ml/20mmol k. Run over prescribed time, usually 8 hours. Never had a problem with burning.

3. Nurses Will Eat Anything

   Don't agree at all that nurses will eat anything. In our dept it has to look good, taste good. and reasonable healthy.( we're 'training the reps!) In saying that when we're tired and breaktime is way in the distance we head for the snack machine!
