Thanks for the replies! The CC I am enrolled in now has a LPN program, but since certain classes are only offered fall/spring semester it will take longer for me to finish (Spring 2014). I just want to get this done and over with I know that the faster I get my degree the better it will be for my child and I but I know motherhood has its demands. I looked into another school that offers the LPN program and they have evening classes starting in February through December. I guess I'm just in a hurry but I don't want to screw myself either...

As of now, the total cost of tuition is $11,000. Add in textbook costs and lab fees and the total cost of the program is $14,834. This does not include the NCLEX application fee or the exam fee which is $275 total. Before starting their program you must also have a medical terminology course under your belt and pass the LPN entrance exam (1st attempt is free). If you take the MT course that is offered at the center it is $180. You must also pay an application fee of $65 and have an active CPR card. If you don't have a CPR card, they offer a 1 day course which costs $45. Last but not least, you have to pay for your own FBI & BCI fingerprint background check which can be done at the driver's license bureau. Well, I hope this helped. I just got an information packet today and I'm still thinking about starting. Let me know if you have any questions.

So I'm interested in starting the LPN program that is being offered in January at MVCTC but I have my doubts as to why I shouldn't start. You must be certified before starting the program and I'll have only one try to pass my STNA test before I have to retake the whole course all over again so I'm nervous I won't pass. But that is not my biggest concern. I'll be giving birth to my first child in December!!! I'm worried with the stresses of being a new mother that I wont be able to handle the full time course schedule. I guess I'm just looking for words of encouragement because this is something I really want to do. Any other new moms that went to nursing school after having a baby?

    hi all!
i'm needing some advice about which route i should take on my schooling to become a rn. currently, i'm enrolled in a 4 year university, but due to poor educational choices, i'm not able to attend any longer unless i pay out of pocket for classes. i've applied to a local community college (which has a waiting list) and i was wondering if i should go ahead and try to get my adn *or*take my prereqs at the cc and transfer those credits back to the 4yr university to attend their nursing program (bsn). i know if i decide to stay at the cc i could always go back to the university for a rn-bsn program. what do you all think? should i take classes at the local cc to transfer back to the university or stick with the cc and finish out their adn program?

p.s..i've already wasted 3 years at this university so i'm trying to pick the fastest route!

I received my CNA certificate in August, but I'm not yet "state" certified.

Hey everyone! I'm currently a Wright State student with hopes of getting into the nursing program. I'm currently in my second year. Throughout my college experience, I've had some downfalls academically. I started with my major focusing on accounting and some of the economics courses hurt my GPA. I'm hoping my GPA will be high enough by the end of fall 2011 quarter so i can apply. I just don't know if I'm wasting my time with a school that might not accept me if my GPA isn't high enough. What do you guys think?
