  1. What nursing school can I get into with a 3.2 gpa?

In my area, BSN programs typically look at overall GPA and ADN programs look at grades only from specified prereqs. I used that to my advantage. My overall GPA isn't great but I had a 4.0 in prenursing classes so I applied to 2 ADN programs and was a...
  2. Anatomy harder than nursing school classes?

When I was a communications major, I did horrible in science classes. When I switched to prenursing I made As in A&P I & II and Micro because I knew I had to. If you go into the class knowing that grade can make or break your acceptance into ...
  3. First Year

This is my 7th week and we've already lost some, too. A couple of people dropped for personal reasons and a few more didn't make it past our first dosage calculation exam (you get 2 tries to make a 90, if you don't get it, you're out right then). So ...
  4. Augusta Tech ADN program 2011

I'm not sure if anything has changed but for those of us that started this year, they only considered prereqs and PAX. There were no extra points for CNA or anything else. Make sure you attend one of the info sessions. They'll give you all the inform...
  5. "You'll be hearing from my lawyer."

I'm a legal assistant and you wouldn't believe how many of these people I talk to every week. People will try to retain a lawyer over anything these days.
  6. TEAS Question

The best advice is definitely to buy a TEAS study guide. Take the practice test included and see which areas you should devote your time to.
  7. your gpa

I applied to an ADN program a technical college in Georgia and at one in South Carolina. I got in both and NEITHER looked at my overall GPA. They only looked at grades for their specific prereqs and whatever entrance exam they used (one uses TEAS and...
  8. Nursing programs that take low gpa students

Around Georgia and South Carolina, many state technical schools don't look at your overall GPA. They consider your nursing prerequisite grades and an entrance exam. I was accepted to both schools I applied to and my GPA is lower than yours. I just w...
  9. the nursing identity

My advice is to apply to as many programs as you could possibly see your yourself driving to (ADN or BSN). It would be better to get your ADN now than to wait and reapply every semester for a couple of years for your BSN.
  10. Just a question about associate in nursing

It is encouraged to finish all of your general classes before you start the nursing program so that you can focus solely on your nursing classes.
  11. TEAS test - really no pencil/paper?!

I was also only required to complete the math and reading sections, and like the others, we were given scrap paper when we got there to test.
  12. Any aiken tech nursing students please help

Augusta Tech is a good deal cheaper, and that is one reason I chose it. Our entire semester's tuition is only about $1,000.00 and my Pell grant will cover it.
  13. Any Aiken Tech or Augusta Tech Fall 2011 Applicants?

Got mine this weekend too! Just need to finish all my health forms and CPR.
  14. Any aiken tech nursing students please help

We had to have completed A&P I&II, Micro, English I&II, Humanities, College Algebra, Psych, Sociology, and Computers. But decisions were made based 70% on grades from A&P I&II, Micro, Psych, College Algebra, and English 1101 (I ha...
  15. Any aiken tech nursing students please help

Congrats! I too had 23 points and was accepted. But I was also accepted to the program at Augusta Tech and it ends about 5 months quicker, is more affordable, and is closer to home for me, so I am going that route. I hope we both have nice teachers w...
