  1. Ahh no, and why would you want to become an MDA?? Watch what the future brings, there are going to be more and more CRNA's and less and less MDA's. MDA's are too expensive. Healthcare is finally figuring that out. Nurse Anesthetists provide the same ...
  2. Not a very well thought out answer here. Basically, in the very near future, nurses will take on more responsibility in healthcare. They will be front line primary care practitionars. Get your facts correct about Purdue's DNP, it is not just 192 hour...
  3. First of all check your grammer. Aint??? Come on. Tell me, do Dentists want people to think they are doctors, what about audiologists, podiatrists, physicial therapists, pharmacists? They are all called doctors. A title of Doctor is defined as the h...
  4. Accepted, with second thoughts. HELP.

Right on!! Thanks for responding back.
  5. Accepted, with second thoughts. HELP.

You are right. I am not trying to be harsh. My response was to the response from the person that said, "Having more experience doesn't make anesthesia easier.......what does a few extra years of the ICU teach you about anesthesia I believe years and...
  6. Accepted, with second thoughts. HELP.

The reason for ICU experience is not to teach you anything about anesthesia. Think about what you have said and try to figure out what ICU experience really means.
  7. Which ICU is BEST for Nurse Anesthesia???

Ok, I have to add in a comment here about the ICU experience. I believe that a CVICU is good or a SICU. CVICU is good in that you have the patients with the cardiothoracic surgeries but that is limited. A SICU gives you a well rounded opportunity to ...
  8. Experience before CRNA School

Don't rush it. Get some good experience. Those with SICU or CVICU could have a minimum of 1 year or two years experience. MICU and other ICU's are not equal to a surgical ICU so I would say those would be 4 or 5 years experience. Again, don't rush it...
  9. Neonatal CCRN

I suggest that you go back to the adult ICU's and then take the CCRN, then apply to anesthesia school.
  10. ER Only Background for CRNA??

You bet!! It is the truth!! :-)
  11. Senior SRNA Accepted to Medical School. Now what?

Regardless of the number of AA's and AA schools, the final decision will ultimately be made by the patients. Patient centeredness if that is a word is the new black. Patients will not want a person that is not sufficiently trained in anesthesia admin...
  12. ER Only Background for CRNA??

ER is not the same as ICU experience. The only reason some school accept students with only ER experience is because they do not get enough applicants with ICU experience.
  13. Working during school

I would recommend that you do not work during school. Focus on your school and take out loans, etc. When you graduate you will be able to pay off those loans faster than any other degree that you can get for being in school 24-36 months.
  14. Flunked out and gotten back into school?

If you have failed out of Nurse Anesthesia School, I would take a good look to see if this is really for you.
