   When I had 3 shifts to make up I just worked it out with the company and the unit to extend one week and make them up. That way no overtime for the unit.

   I also travel with family. My daughter and my fiance. What I do is locate in an area with 4-5 major cities within an hours drive. That way I have my choice of assignments and do not have to keep moving the kid.

5. Housing while traveling- How is it done?

   I as a rule try to stay in an area for 6 months to a year on an assignment so I ussually just get my own place. Its a lot less expensive as a rule then the housing allowance. Right now I am in a townhouse that costs less then half of my allowance.
