I have been with the VA here in Danville for 10 years now and love it. Great benefits and pay! Not to mention I love taking care of our Nations Veterans. The hiring process is very long but dont get discouraged... I would recommend it to anyone.
It is possible...but very very hard...I worked full time and have children ages 2, 3 and 9....I just finished my first year and took my NCLEX PN today... As long as you have a good support system and very focused you can do it!!
I just finished my LPN program and took my NCLEX test today and awaiting results....anyway...I start the RN part or Level II in the fall and from what I hear the RN part is not as hard because it is basically a repeat of the LPN with a little more in...
I agree....I also live and work in the same town and see a big difference in nurses that have a BSN or ADN. A BSN program is more buisness than clinical type nursing. You will learn a lot more nursing hands on stuff in an ADN program, if that is wh...

Wow guys, I guess I am not alone either...I lost my son at 38 weeks. He was considered a stillborn but it is rough no matter how old the little one is. You will get through it but never get over it. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You are ...

Wow, are you sure you want to take micro and a&p along with something else? A&p2 is hard enough alone. I just finished micro in the summer and that was pretty easy for me but a&p2 about killed me. Good luck!!
I am not pregnant now but I did have a baby during my pre-reqs....I now have an 8yr old, a 2yr old and a 1yr old. It is hard but can be done...Congrats!!!! I start the program in the fall
I am starting the program in the fall of 08 too. In Danville, IL. I just finished microbiology this summer. I have 3 kids, husband and a full time job. Luckily, my job is on the weekend 12hrs shifts so I have time to study thru the week.

Which college do you go to? I am going to Dacc. My clinicals are on Thursdays. Not sure where, but I work at the Va as a Cna, so if you have any questions, let me know

I would take some electives that are possible a pre req for a bsn program or something like that. Maybe even a cna class, medical terminology or nutrititon.
