  1. Any thoughts on Iguana, Urbane or Dickies Scrubs?

Where are these Urbane tops with pockets on each side?? That's just what I need! I love Urbane scrubs, but those tops just don't have enough pockets. I got cargo pants to help make up for what the tops lack in pockets. I've had Landau & Cherokee ...
  2. I posted on the stethoscope discussion board and didn't get any replies, so I thought you ped nurses might be able to offer advice....I am a new grad RN and will be starting an internship in a few weeks for a Post-Surg Unit that also has a few peds o...
  3. I'm starting an internship for my new job in a few weeks--it is half hands on, half lecture/bookwork. Anyone who has already been thru an internship program, can you tell me how most people dressed? At first I was going to do buisness casual, but the...
  4. Best shoes ever?

I am pretty happy with New Balance. I'm on my 3rd pair from them, about to buy more (I get them buy one, get one half off at Famous Footwear). My chiropractor got me started on them...she also gave me the tip that the higher numbers they are more sup...
  5. I am trying to decide between a Littman Classic II SE or a Cardiology III. I will be on a post-surgical unit, but this unit also has some peds (including babies that are only a few days old), and it sounds like the Cardiology III would be better for ...
  6. Stethoscope Reccomendations?

The stethoscope discussion board is awesome! Never realized there was a section like that on here. I remember my teachers making reccomendations at school, but I could not remember what brand they had said (Littman, of course, lol).
  7. When does my license need to be renewed??

I emailed the Texas board of nursing and they gave me the same date to renew that the online verify a license thing gave me. Basically my birthday is in Oct and I was born on a odd year, so I have to renew by Oct 31 on each odd year (2009, 2011, 2013...
  8. Stethoscope Reccomendations?

I'm a new grad and just got a job on a post-surgical unit....What brands & types of stethoscopes are good? I had a $20 stethoscope in college & for a year working as a LPN, but now I think it is time for an upgrade. Want to make sure I can he...
  9. When does my license need to be renewed??

I went to the verify a license online thing and it worked! Thank you! The odd/even year tip is good too, just every other year on your birthday month it seems. I didn't get a wallet size license, only a full size one.
  10. In November of this year I had my RN license endorsed to Texas:D. It has the date it was issued on it, but I don't see anything about when the license expires. Does anyone know? I was reading the CE booklet they included and it sounded like the expir...
  11. New Jurisprudence Exam

I am moving from Michigan to Texas next month. I looked online about transfering my RN license to Texas--I guess it is called "be endorsement"--and I see one of the things I need to do is take a Jurisprudence Exam. They say it is online exam, takes u...
  12. DFW Hospitals offering "Weekend Option Staff"??

OK, actually, I do not want to be weekend option staff myself. I am trying to avoid working Sundays (or at least not every other Sunday) and still be at a hospital and someone suggested looking for a hospital with this feature.
  13. do any dfw hospitals offer "weekend option staff" (they work 24hrs (sat/sun) and but get paid for f/t)? i am looking specifically in the plano area, but it is not for sure yet that it will be plano, so any leads would be appreciated. thanks!:)
  14. Sundays Off??

Thanks everyone! :yeah:These are all good ideas. For me I would be THRILLED to get 12 hr shifts in an OB dept and just meet my weekend requirements with Saturdays (well, or even better if the hospital has special weekend staff as someone mentioned ).
  15. Sundays Off??

I am trying to brainstorm...what types of nursing jobs are out there that give you Sundays off (or at least most Sundays)? And are there such jobs that also operate on 12-hr shifts? I know doctor's offices would be M-F with buisness hrs, but they usu...
