  1. Florida CNA's

I did Florida Medical Prep also, on Leesburg, had Ray- awesome! I was so skeptical too, sounded like a "promo"...granted I have all pre-reqs done for nursing school- but no real clinical experience other than having been trained as a "patient-sitter"...
  2. Should I start off as CNA or Medical Assitant.. need advice!

A CNA, also, I did a 4-day prep course, 300.00, I was skeptical, but it was all I needed (I'm a nursing student, but had no prior clinical experience other than patient-sitting) I passed my test and feel we were even "over-taught" in our 4-days...so ...
  3. Challenging CNA exam..help please?

Where are you scheduled to test? I just took the test today (passed) in Ocala.....it was a little easier than I thought, my nerves were still in high-gear that's for sure.
  4. UCF students/grads, opinion please?

Well, my hard-earned GPA is for all nursing pre-reqs....that's how they did it at AACC in Maryland...here, I've unhappily discovered they look at total GPA
  5. UCF students/grads, opinion please?

Thanks Jill, I'll look at Seminole's website...I only have fall/spring 2010/2011, summer 2011 and fall/spring 2011/2012 to do- I'll have all pre-reqs done for LSCC and UCF at end of spring 2010 semester- I was accepted into AACC nursing program (in M...
  6. Signing up for my CNA class today!

I appreciate the way you're feeling, Wannabecna, just gettting & trying on your first pair of scrubs, and just *ordering* supplies gives you a boost, a feeling of "beginning your journey". You're enthusiasm is contagious, thank you!
  7. UCF students/grads, opinion please?

Thanks Dune181, LSCC does have a RN to BSN program, all done on line. I'm going to apply to both the 2-year ASN and the BSN program this fall....I guess because I'm older, "saving" 18 months is tempting, even if it's a long drive...
  8. Signing up for my CNA class today!

Yikes, that is alot of money! My local community college offered an 8 week course for 599.00, but I missed it, am doing a Florida medical Prep Course, 300.00, one week. But most importantly, you're doing it! Have you considered a goal of RN vs. LPN? ...
  9. UCF students/grads, opinion please?

Hello all, I'm a non-traditional student w/ 3.9 gpa, contemplating applying to UCF's BSN program in the fall, vs. Lake Sumter Community College's ASN program, then doing UCF's online RN to BSN program. I just transferred to area from Maryland. (I hav...
  10. Career Path?

Stephaniek, did you get the position after your 1st semester of nursing school? I know if you are in the community college 2-year program, you can work as a CNA, but I thought you still had to obtain a license.
  11. Thrilled

So glad for you, remember this feeling, so that in the future, whenever you feel discouraged, be confident that the sun shines brightest after the dark clouds pass. Happy times are waiting for you:)
  12. how many cna's plan to continue their education?

hahaha Ozarksgal...I'm with you on the working years left...I'll figure I'll work till I'm about 74 or so...retirement??? naaaahhh, never :)
  13. how many cna's plan to continue their education?

I'm doing the CNA path to "kill time" and gain experience. For me, I'll function better as an RN, with confidence, with experience as a CNA. I have all major pre-reqs done, and am waiting to apply to fall of '10 programs. Then, RN to BSN, I plan to a...
  14. AP II in Fall '09 or Spring '10 . . . can't decide

I took them consecutively, finished up fall of 2008, and I don't start nursing school till fall 2010- my opinion, take them together now, have it behind you, take a nutrition course, or some other related course that ties it all together (nutrition w...
  15. Career Path?

Sorry! I also meant to answer that depending on your situation, if you can, opt to stay in school and aim for the RN degree, whether at a community college or university. I wouldn't get "sidetracked" doing the LPN, but getting your CNA license gains ...
