About NICUDreamer11

I am a pre-BSN student just trying to get through my pre-reqs without pulling out my hair (or falling asleep - because I am sooo bored). I am almost completely set on becoming a NICU nurse someday, and I CANNOT wait!

  1. mayo clinic summer iii 2010

I applied for Mayo Summer 3 too! I've been waiting to see if anyone else on here applied. I am so nervous and excited! I'm glad they decide fast because I don't know if I could wait more than a few weeks! My GPA is alright but I don't have any experi...
  2. ???Questions??? Technology & Nursing School

I don't know much about iphone (i have an ipod touch that I use as my PDA and it's great!), but I was just reading the other day about an app for iphone that works as a voice recorder. Sorry, I can't remember what it was called but it might be someth...
  3. Question about the TEAS

I took the TEAS in September and I didn't find that any of my pre-reqs in college would have helped with it. More than prereqs, I would review high school/middle school stuff. Most of the things are not advanced, but actually pretty basic - especiall...
  4. COUNT ME IN!! I've been ready to be done with prereqs since i started them! Especially this semester...the prereqs are getting harder and I'm so ready to not have to deal with them anymore. I don't mind hard when it comes to nursing school, but I am...
  5. dissecting cats

Well, I'm not a "huge" cat lover, but I do have a cat and thought that I wouldn't like dissecting one. It really wasn't that bad though. I thought the smell was worse than the actual idea that you were dissecting an animal. One big thing is that I d...
  6. Peds Rotation

jjrz1037 - This is a great question, but I think you would probably get more answers if you moved your post to the General Nursing Student Forum. This is the pre-nursing student forum so even though most of the people reading this (myself included) ...
  7. Breastfeeding Specialists in your hospital?

Hi, everyone! I'm still in nursing school but I love reading all your posts about NICU issues - they are so informative and really interesting (as you can see from my name, I want to work in the NICU after I graduate!). On that note, we had a lady fr...
  8. Buy nursing shoes for nursing school clinicals?

Sorry for posting again, but I wanted to try to make my question more clear. I was searching more for any other threads about wearing nursing shoes for clinicals, but most people are asking for suggestions of what type of shoes to buy. I am asking w...
  9. Hey guys! I'm starting nursing school next year and I have a question for all of you... For our clinicals I have to have an all-white shoe with a closed toe and heel. I've done some looking and haven't really found anything I like all that much (as f...
  10. Pda Q

Do you have any problems with the hospitals where you do clinicals not allowing you to use a smartphone as your pda since most of them do not allow cell phones? I'm starting nursing school next year and I am required to get a pda. I think it would be...
  11. Anyone attending Palm Beach Atlantic for BSN

BMLEX - No, I didn't mail my app and fee because I go to school there already so I just dropped it off at the office. But I'm sure you can mail it to them no problem. And yes, the recommendation forms are sent in by the people who fill them out becau...
  12. Anyone attending Palm Beach Atlantic for BSN

I'm not sure if they give the same essay topic to everyone or not, but mine was something about what qualities, background...do you have or went through that made you choose to get a BSN in nursing. They give you a blank piece of paper with the quest...
  13. Anyone attending Palm Beach Atlantic for BSN

I took the TEAS in September and did pretty good. I think the best thing to do is get the guide from ATI cause the questions are just like the real thing (some of them are actually harder). Focus a lot on math and science. The math is basic (but no c...
  14. Anyone attending Palm Beach Atlantic for BSN

Hi BMLEX010 I attend Palm Beach Atlantic and I am prenursing. I'm a sophomore so I don't start officially until next fall (sort of start in the spring). I've taken all my pre-reqs at PBA so I was in the Guaranteed Acceptance program that 2b-nurse men...
  15. Spring 2009 Classes

I just finalized my Spring 09 classes today...oh, boy! My program is officially 4 semesters starting next fall, but in the spring we take half nursing classes and half gen ed pre-reqs before starting the real program. So my classes will be: Gen: A+P ...
