  1. What would you have done?

I am a high school nurse, but for any type of head/face/neck injury, I do an incident report and call parents. Any time there is an injury that is more than a scrape I do one and call. CYA. Most parents are appreciative and respond well, some are ...
  2. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

Sounds like I'm in about the same position as you are. Keep in touch because it looks like we'll be going through EC at the same time. I have been accepted but am going to do my pre-reqs and first nursing exam before I pay the enrollment fee cause ...
  3. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

As of April, 2008, they are accepted. You would license in Indiana and endorse over. I have chosed EC because it's quicker but considered them in the beginning.
  4. Sandford Brown RN Program

I am a graduate from SB's LPN program from 1994. I think that I got a decent education but one major issue is that the are ANA accredited, not NLN. That's why there is the issue of credits transferring, etc. I contemplated (very briefly) about goi...
  5. Excelsior and License Endorsement?

My intention was not to make you feel "dumb" but just to clarify. You never know when things might change with these schools. LOL I just started my journey with them and I panicked, thinking maybe it had changed. Lunah - do you know how many cle...
  6. Excelsior and License Endorsement?

Is Missouri a new one? As of 03/08, Missouri does accept Excelsior. I received an email from Diana C. from the MO state board of nursing regarding this on 3/10/08. A copy of the body of the email is pasted in below. What we tell people is that the...
  7. Have you heard if they're going to grandfather existing NP's in or will they have to obtain their doctorate to keep their licensure?
  8. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

Do you have all of your pre-req's and nursing courses done?
  9. ER at Childrens Hospital

I would have to politely disagree about the care at SJW being so much better. I think there are a handful of staff that give good care there. The rest are just there for a paycheck. I would have to tell you to rethink this option. IMO
  10. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

Good Job!! Are you going to have to do the FCCA or did you get into this before that?
  11. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

amee37 - how did you do on your exam? I have sent in my application to EC and am waiting for a response. Will be talking to you more as I go along. Keep us posted.
  12. Help! Dig error, accused of lying?

A couple of things that I pulled from this. One, I have been a nurse for 14+ years and have had very good and very bad days. One thing I can say is, while I disagree with the way this instructor handled the situation, I do feel that it is a good le...
  13. Online vs. Campus LPN Program

I would absolutely 110% agree that you should at least do your LPN as a traditional campus program. The online courses are based on that hands on experience. I am an LPN ready to move on to my RN and I am also in management and while I feel that LP...
  14. Any ISU LPN-BSN students near St. Louis????

Have you specifically checked with the BON to see if they accept EC? I have been considering that as well, but it makes me a little nervous because of all of the talk about some states not allowing endorsement because of the lack of clinicals. I kn...
  15. LPN to RN programs IN St Louis, mo

Amee37 - did you have all of your pre-req's done since you already had a degree or did you have to do more pre-req's? If you did, where and how did you get them? I am looking at Excelsior and ISU, but have no pre-req's. Just trying to get a jumping o...
