  1. Use alcohol to clean ear piercing?

I work psych on an adolescent unit and I have a pt with large guaged ear piercings. The pt complains of dry blood and the urge to pick at it, though I advise him not to. It looked like it needed to be cleaned, so I reached for an alcohol swab. I have...
  2. Use alcohol to clean ear piercing?

    Would you?
  3. Pain abbreviated Px?

I saw it used in this post for pain: https://allnurses.com/test-question-t110944/
  4. Pain abbreviated Px?

  9. Catheter beyond comfort measure?

Just a stupid curiosity. My friend and I were arguing whether a catheter is classified as a comfort measure or not. My argument was that it could possibly play a role in prolonging life due to bypassing the micturition reflex.

Nursing is a vast career. Before you throw your license out the window, why don't you explore other career options?
  11. Passing meds prepared by others

Before anyone scolds me... I know this is wrong. I just got a new job at a county jail, and they use a lot of med sets (smtwtfs pill reminder boxes) . The night shift fills them, and everyone else passes them. It's scary because I don't recognize pil...
