I just registered for classes, did so through the www.umassulearn.net website. The classes we need to sign up for are listed on the back of the the white sheets that were included in the acceptance letter. Also, the financial aid office requires us to print and sign a few forms prior to the award being granted. These forms can be found through the "to-do's" section on our spire account. Hope everyone is doing well and had a happy Thanksgiving!
Look forward to meeting everyone.
The email for the computer system was sent by the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) letting us know to activate our SPIRE account and email account. Though I am still getting all of my emails sent to my personal email still. I called financial aid today and she said we should be getting our packages shortly.
Has anyone registered for classes yet? When are we suppose to do these?
I agree with you, I kinda wish orientation was even sooner -- that way we would know exactly what has to be done when. I feel like I may be getting ahead of myself sometimes, and then other times I feel like I am behind. I mean do we need to go there and get H1N1 flu shots? I figure that we can do that when the need really comes, but they have sent out like 3 emails with information regarding them -- but not sure if it really applies to us or the class of 2010. Same goes with class registration.
Thank you for this information. They said that financial aid should be in contact with us shortly if we completed the fafsa application. I just received an email saying that we are now in the computer system, so this should trigger financial aid getting our aid packages together.
I am waiting to hear about financial aid as well, -- I filled out the fafsa form when I applied, but I guess we wont hear anything about aid until we are officially in the system. I am also looking at places to move and getting the paper work together and sent out. I completed my CPR/AED for a professional rescuer, filled out the CORI and Health Forms and made the copies of my ID. I think I am going to wait to purchase scrubs and stethoscope till after orientation.
When are we suppose to sign up for classes? I am sure they will probably discuss this at orientation, just wondering if anyone has heard anything about that.
I believe it is still scheduled for the 15/16. It will be nice to have the orientation a few weeks before classes start. This way we can iron out all of the little issues that we do not know about yet. Like getting scrubs, stethoscope etc..
Does everyone already live in the Amherst area? Does anyone have any suggestions for resources to find available rentals? I have been viewing craigslist, just wondering if there are any other places that I may want to look. Also any suggestions on what town to live in/not live in. How far out should the maximum search area be?
Congratulations to all! I just recieved mine as well. Looks like we are going to be in class together!
Sorry you didnt get in, but it is great that you have other offers on the table. Congratulations! I still have not heard anything, hopefully will get the letter tomorrow. The mail man will find me sitting on my porch waiting for him
Good luck to everyone else!
Hi, I just spoke to UMASS Amherst and they are not mailing the notifications out until November 1st. Looks like we get to worry couple more weeks.
Has anyone heard anything yet?
I am waiting to hear if I was accepted as well. I feel like the mail man is giving me wierd looks, because I wait for him to arrive everyday. At least now I know that the letters will be sent on the 15th. That provides a little relief. Thank you!
Hello, I have recently applied for the program starting January of 2010. Has anyone else applied? Has anyone heard any news yet?
I am in the same situation as the original post. I am working on my preq's to get into an accelerated program. I am also working as a cna right now to gain some experience in the healthcare setting. My question is should I pursue a direct entry MSN or BSN if my ultimate goal is to become a nurse anesthetist? Thanks!!
I have been looking at nursing schools in the portland area, and feel that OHSU accelerated BSN program would be the best fit for me. I already have a BS degree in IT, but wanted to change paths. I finished my BS degree in 2002 with a final GPA of 3.2
Does anyone know how competitive this program is to get into? It seems as if all of the ASN programs are difficult to get into just because of the number of applicants versus the spots available. Any help or extra info would help. Thanks!
