I currently work in the Va in Providence as an ICU RN. The working conditons aren't bad. I love working with the vets. The hiring process is long..it took me 2mos to start working. If you have anymore questions let me know
Just wondering how long some of you waited to apply to CRNA school once in the ICU? I currently started working in a medical/surgical ICU (april 09) and I want to begin applying to schools as soon as possible. I was thinking that I might start applying in the winter/spring of 2010. Just would like some feedback...Thanks...
I thought with the NNEI program you had to work fulltime for three years after you graduated if they paid for you to go to school?? You have the option of being part-time? Also did you have to stay in the same facility and work whatever specialty they wanted you to work or did you have options??? I always hear so much about this program good and bad so it is nice to actually get an opinion from someone that is actually in it...Thanks
Thanks for asking this question...I am also looking to pursue these two degrees. For anyone that has earned these degrees what type of employment opportunities were availabe when you graduated and where do you currently work?? What is a day like for you???
I am currently a RN on the cardiac step-down unit at the VA and I am thinking about becoming an Adult NP. One of my employment options is to stay in the VA and hopefully work in one of the outpatient clinics. I was wondering how he pay system works. Would I still follow the nursing pay scale or will I be considered a GS employee?? Also I was wondering if anyone here has a MSN/MPH degree??? Thanks
Hey Kolt, could you send me your brain also...
I had the same issue. you should go on va.gov. From that site you can put in the zip code you want and hopefuuly the VA your looking for is hiring. The job I just got hired for wasn't on the site that the others were giving you. I had to go on the specific VA's website. Once you go on va.gov, look to the left hand side for jobs and then go to careers and its self explanatory from there. Hope this helps and good luck!!!!
