  1. RN can't find job, what gives?

Can someone close this thread? It is too late, I have no money. Lol, people seem to think you can just get to work with no money, no internet, no gas, etc. Pretty soon I won't have any water either and then I can't shower. Nice smell for the intervi...
  2. RN can't find job, what gives?

My resume is not the problem, I made sure again, with 12 people after my last post. They don't know what the problem is either. I always ace the interview, but I don't have any money to get to one now. Moved to a place with no public transportation a...
  3. RN can't find job, what gives?

I just wanted to say one thing, because my internet is getting shut off on Monday. I hope that people who have jobs appreciate that they do, even though some days are hell, or it might not be the best place. Don't complain about it and say it sucks. ...
  4. RN can't find job, what gives?

Thanks so much for your suggestion, but I did that a month ago with my mentor. My mentor who has been a nurse for 31 years says my resume is fine. She has been a DON, ADON, and now is in Hospice Case Management. I have great references, that no one e...
  5. RN can't find job, what gives?

This is the type of letter I received when applying for a permanent position at a hospital in Southern California. It was for 3 positions in Med/Surg. Didn't want to leave a name, because that isn't nice, but this is what I usually get. I don't get i...
  6. RN can't find job, what gives?

Oh and thanks for letting me know that Travel nursing will ruin my resume. Recruiters keep telling me all these things about nursing, but they aren't even nurses. So I knew I would find the answer here.
  7. RN can't find job, what gives?

There is no hospital that I have applied to that is willing to train me out of Med/Surg. It seems they are hiring New Grads (no offense), but Med/Surg was suppose to be the basics of all nursing. Everytime I apply they say I don't have enough experie...
  8. Las Vegas to California

Yes, you can test for Neveda, purchase a California license. Or, you can just test for the state of California and pay once. For example, when I lived in Massachusetts and was accepted for a job in Connecticut, I tested for Connecticut in Massachus...
  9. Job transfer with almost no notice!

If the contract says it, then it is so. But, on the other hand, they broke their part of the contract, by not giving her a job as a LVN.
  10. Scheduled meeting with manager, HR and union rep

So are you going to lose your license over this? Oh sigh, I hope not. I can't see where you are from? When you say province do you mean Canada?
  11. Do YOU answer call lights in a hospital?

Yes, I do actually. I will also do what some nurses call CNA work, bed bath, feeding, bathroom, etc... There still has to be delegation, but my aids can't do everything. I believe in team work.
  12. Really freaking out

I don't know. My friend who just graduated, but hasn't taken her boards yet, said ALL of her classmates obtained jobs after graduation. As for my class in 2005, some of us had to wait a couple of months. For me, it is happening I can't find anythi...
  13. Really freaking out

Girl I feel you. I am in AZ, left MA because I only had LTC experience. Sigh, I am trying to get a job over here, after a travel assignment an I am not having any luck. It is so bad, that I didn't eat for a few days.
  14. RN can't find job, what gives?

I have been a nurse for 3 years. Started out in LTC, moved onto Med/Surg, and then started travel nursing. My first Med/Surg job, the floor closed, and they didn't want to train me in any other specialty in the hospital, with my LTC background. Why ...
  15. Can I work part-time as a new grad.?

I am sure they would hire you part-time. Most jobs specify if they are looking for part-time or full-time nurses. If you see a job you are interested in call them and ask.
