You can do it if you want it. If I can do it, I feel most anyone can. When I started I had no previous college or healthcare experience. Also had 2 young children and no husband. Soooo......it took me 3 years to get a 2-year associates degree......lol. I cleaned houses for cash and with grants and loans put myself through school. I am thinking about a BSN now.....even though I'm old......lol......I'm not dead yet.
Well this will sound corny....when I was a child I would go into our church library and read. I came across biographies of Nightingale and Barton...lol....and I wanted to be a nurse. However, I did not do it until I was in my 30's. I've now been an RN for about 9 years and love it. When I first got into nursing school without ANY healthcare experience of any kind I thought I'd died and went to hell. Matter of fact the Director of the program told me I'd never make it. I set out to prove her wrong...lol. Nursing is not a bad life. I love it.
