Refusing to Sign Off On Others Assessments

I agree it only takes a few minutes. That’s why I’m not understanding asking someone to do the med pass.

Refusing to Sign Off On Others Assessments

I meant to put signing off on a death, in my last paragraph.

Refusing to Sign Off On Others Assessments

In LTC yes. They do the admission usually it’s the ADON or DON that would go in the Next day. Review everything and maybe notate more details. MDS/Care Plan Nurse reviews charts as well.

Refusing to Sign Off On Others Assessments

Your DON or Charge should be an RN and reviewing and signing off on assessments. I’ve been both an LPN and RN, never did the floor nurse need to review my assessments, you are tied up with your own load. In regards to signing off, I would never delay...

    Lurie Children's Hospital Chicago

Not sure about them, but it helps to have someone you know there to push the process along. I'm in the Chicagoland, and there is still some places I haven't heard back from yet.

I love that you asked this question and was able to receive answers and rationales. But a big concern is what is going on between you and your preceptor that you couldn't ask her/him. That is what they assign preceptors for, and so even get a small p...

    A bit childish but...

Don't stress about it, so many people may wish you ill or doubt your abilities. But remember to keep focus. I was whiz kid when I was younger, I completed my LPN program before I exited high school.I had CNAs that hated for that fact, I attempted sch...

Should lpn try to keep cna license?

As far as I know like the other commenters have said the scope of a CNA is covered under nursing practice. I've known LPN's and RN's that both worked as CNA when we short. As far as know neither kept the certification up. If you want to get paid nurs...

    eliminating the LPN role ?

We are all at the mercy of individual state and facility regulations. No one is safe. As the profession progresses and medical discoveries are uncovered, we all will be required to do more work. Diploma RN were required to get degrees. Also, 20 CEUs ...
