    Hey Guys...

Wow what a Thread... Well I noticed alot about dislikes and Likes... Often the dislikes were opinions other than Facts like... Instructors were Poor or They left me Hanging...

I'm enrolling into the RN to MSN thru TCN... With Regis University...
I had to have 3 modules... Stats... World religion... and Upper division... I think marketing... Hey for 2500 dollars to Test out of them... Is less expensive then taking the Test at My local community college... Where there is No Gaurantee that I pass... this kind of Obvious... In my opinion...

Im not the Kind of guy with Kids... or a Complicated lifestyle.. I pretty much work and Hang out... I know great!!! lol But I do have huge dreams... So the faster I get done with it the better...

If you was to go to a university and do classroom... it adds 1 or more years on to the planned 3 with TCN...

So when you put it that way... Then I say TCN all the way...

Also on TCN part... Yes it is a pub company... But they Don't leave you hanging... They provide so much more on top of what the college offers to help you pass...

I am fully aware that my next question/comment is totally off the subject at hand, but here it is anyhow. Did you really earn a BSN at age 20? Your user profile indicates that you are a 20 year old RN who is also educated at the BSN level.

If you truly are a 20 year old BSN, then I congratulate you on your special achievements. However, I smell a troll.....

I Grad last yr From ADN... I Have a Couple Months left for My BSN...

I Grad From High School @ 18... Got Accepted Out of High School to the ADN in the Community College... Took 3 Other Classes Each Time with my Nursing Classes... Mostly On liners... Took Most of My Prereq's in High School... Like Micro.. And Anatomy... I also Took Calc... Physics... Chemistry... I had 30 some Credit Hours By the time I graduated From High School...

I only need the Core Classes for the Online BSN program... So That's Why I went ahead and Put down for the RN-BSN...

I work PRN at a hospital Around here... B/c I love living off the Parents Insurance... haha...

I tired Looking for some thread on It... But There were So many... Plus... It may have been a little Out of date...

But I do Apologize For the Word "Stupid"... I didn't mean to Offend anyone... That wasn't My intentions...

    My BAD...

I know you all have heard some interesting things about what some of your co-Workers have Done...

Leave out Med. Errors... or Nurses Caught Taken their Patient Drugs... Think of the One's that are totally Outrageous...

For Example, and to get things started I have a Few...

-A nurse on my floor ran a Feeding Tube Supplement Thru an IV...
-Another Nurse.. Couldn't Find a Vein So instead of asking someone Else... They used his Dialysis Fistula for the IV... Then Ran a Bag of Heparin thru It..

It's Sad that some nurses Mess up on stuff like this... Hopefully they learn from their Mistakes...

(This Thread is Somewhat Similar to https://allnurses.com/forums/f8/scari...light=scariest)...

But the Thread is Several Years out dated... In fact The Thread was created When I graduated From High School in 2004... So Lets Here some New Stuff...

    Here is some more...

If you don't know something in clinical setting... Then someone helps you out... Don't ... Don't Act like you knew it... And Played it like you were going to do it the whole time...

If someone is asking a question... Do not interrupt them... With the same exact question that they were asking...

And Please Don't Keep asking questions to the instructor about questions that doesn't Even pertain about the topic going over in Class Just because you So happen of Thought about it... Like My grandma has a spot on Her Head... What is it... lol

Also... Be prepared to be Red to in class... I hate that so Much... My instructors... Read the PowerPoint to us... As they go thru it... It burns me up every week... I work all night... And I have to sit for Hours... Listening to something That I could Go home and Read... That's basically what we do anyways... Its like a Self Study Course anyways...

Thanks for the help. Is there any particular "brand" of the Nclex review book that was more helpful to you? I know several companies put them out. When I was taking A and P over the summer, I found the Kaplan version of A and P review to be pretty good. Not sure about the Nclex though.

Is there anything else anyone can think of that might help me out if I started looking ahead a bit? Are there any big lists or anything that first year that are mostly memorization and might take a lot of time? I wouldn't mind starting to glance through stuff like that since I have a month or so before school starts.

    Thanks again!
Find out who wrote the nursing books you all use... Like we have Mosby... And saunders... But Just remember their might be one or two test memorizing... But everything else is application... What would u do in this scenerio type stuff...

Did you get any feedback from your instructor as to how you may have presented yourself that attracted so much negative attention? Even if you never enter another psych ward, the information would be useful in your future dealings with patients.

Idk... The nurses there Just said I may have reminded them of someone in the past... Lol... But I didn't let my barrier down to try to do any theapeutic Communication towards them...

    hi,
i am new here and was wondering if the 33% loss that we have in my class (aas) is normal. we are only in the second semester of clinicals (2 more to go) and i think we may have a few more that will fail out this semester.

i can understand that there will be some losses, i.e. one woman didn't come back because she in a middle of a divorce, someone got pregnant, a few decided to do a bsn instead, etc. but it seems like we are dropping like flies.

are other students experiencing this too?

    crazyhands

we started with 70 drop to 60 after first semester... drop to 50 after second... then went back up to 60 with the lpn bridge students...

but why would you quit to transfer to a bsn program... after your adn it's so easy to get ur bsn in like 3 semesters... online at that... ugh... stupid ppl...
