  1. Pantie Rant!!!

You think that's bad? When I went to LPN school 12 years ago we had to wear pantyhose - with our pants/scrubs. They said the reason for this is skin sloughing. Like we were going to leave a trail of dead skin cells everywhere we walked. To this d...

  3. Slow Codes

It's illegal and I'd never admit to it IF I did it. Not our call. Even if we think the family is wrong, it's just not up to us. Sometimes I wish it was, but it just isn't.

  5. last question! (i promise!) everyone is just so helpful :)

You don't have to be rude. I was just trying to tell you why I chose one answer over the other. :smiley_ab
  6. Do you keep a personal journal?

What do you mean by this? Charting has nothing to do with your feelings. It's only facts.
  7. Steady Drip of documentation

    I is a little bit crazy. Who said that? What. Nothin.:lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti

I agree with you on this, but I personally take down notes all day that wouldn't be part of the chart. I would just like to keep them handy just in case bad things happen.

  10. Which is better, handwashing or hand sanitizer?

I remember when I worked in one facility there would be times that we would have to go find a patient to do his/her blood sugar, like in the cafeteria, PT, etc.; and the hand sanitizer was appropriate there since we couldn't wash our hands right at t...
  11. Which is better, handwashing or hand sanitizer?

Well we thank you for your approval.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  12. Steady Drip of documentation

annmarie, I was just asking. I'm not saying you should stay late. Like I've said in other threads, I personally don't mind staying late because my kids are getting older and it's not really a big deal for me to stay late, and I'm one of those freak...
  13. Most RN's first borns?

I would like to comment on this thread but apparently it's for RN's. Hmmm.
  14. Steady Drip of documentation

I agree with you that we are taken away from the bedside too much, but when it comes to a court of law, if we didn't chart it, we didn't do it. Can you save some of this charting until the end of the shift?
  15. Which is better, handwashing or hand sanitizer?

I was always told that handwashing is the best, and the sanitizer is used as an adjunct to that. Which in my opinion is a great idea r/t the huge amount of nosocomial infections we see. Plus, how many lazy nurses and doctors do you know that don't ...
