   My floor is like that as well usually 1:8-1:10. Med surg/Tele. Mostly with 1 or no aid. The pts are very sick too. Very unsafe. But we have no choice, we can't say no, the hospital said it is abandonment if we do not accept the pts that are admitted...

   Make sure you talk to a professional about your depression. Also don't try to keep up with the jone's. You will have a nice house and car one day. There is no reason to put your self at risk for material things. Like other people said get another job...

   Before you start shift, untangle the wires if it's a portable cart, and place them back neatly after cleaning for the next PT. If it's on the wall, just make small talk while you untangle and put it back neat.

   There is something you can do. Team work makes the dream work. You notify the MD of your findings and suggest what you feel the patient needs. You have to advocate for them.
