About Ruger8mm

I have over 24 years of healthcare experience. I am a Registered Nurse and a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. My experience in diagnostic imaging and the emergency department has helped me develop professional skills including critical thinking, problem solving, therapeutic communication, collaborative teamwork, and time management. This experience will enhance my skills as a registered nurse. I graduated from Hibbing Community College on Friday May 15th 2015 with my Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. During my time in the Nursing program, I volunteered to be the Treasurer of the Student Nurse Association and sat on the Hibbing Community College Student Life Budget Committee which assists in the management of individual department budgets. Along with that, I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology, an Associate of Science Degree in Cardiac Sonography, and a Certificate of Completion as an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic. Lastly, I recently completed the Advance Trauma Life Support course through the American College of Surgeons, the Adult Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation course through the American Heart Association, the Rapid STEMI Identification course through the American Heart Association, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale International certification. I am very anxious to begin my career in nursing. I have an excellent understanding of the healthcare process. Not just how the patient aspect of medicine works, but also how the billing, electronic medical records, and customer service ties into the entire healthcare picture. I can be contacted at [email protected] with any questions.

I've been an echocardiographer for almost 20 years now. Been a nurse for three. So not sure if it helps considering I went the other way. You do not need a bachelors degree in echocardiography. If you are specifically interested in echo, learn spec...

So years later I'm finding a lot of the advice provided to me on this thread years ago is misguided if not even wrong. However it occurs to me many who responded are most likely large metro RNs who work on a specialized unit or have a are isolated to...
  7. Another reason unions suck!

I said the family is in higher healthcare management including hospital CEO. Doesn't mean I work at that facility.
  8. Another reason unions suck!

Actually it is stated specifically in the union contract.

    Now now. You are assuming.
  10. Another reason unions suck!

Not sure how you guys can say there isn't a shortage when data indicates there will be an excessive shortage in a number of years. Not to mention major facilities out there have hundreds of open positions.
  11. Another reason unions suck!

Women can be in high positions of authority to. Just saying.
  12. Another reason unions suck!

That is one of the few things that union did that I agree with. They got rid of the pension and the employer contributes a flat 4.5% of my salary into my 401(k). So I can manage it as I see fit.
  13. Another reason unions suck!

Why do you assume we get a pension?

An hour is a complete waste of time. I do not want to break it up. I want to go home a half hour earlier. I don't go to work because I like to. I go to work because I like to have money to play with. I mean honestly, if I have to take an hour. I mig...
