Hi all,

I am en experienced travel nurse, and am currently interviewing with this company that approached me with opportunities.

I am interviewing with the hiring manager of a potential contract in a few days, and in the meantime have come to the realization that this agency has ZERO online presence - reviews, testimonials from other travelers, etc. Which leaves me concerned that I should be working with another agency.

Anyone worked with or for Meleeo Healthcare Solutions based in Tampa, FL?

I have considered looking into being submitted as a "duplicate candidate" by another agency, but I don't want to jeopardize the potential contract by switching agencies mid-interview- or practice bad form.

Any advice or feedback welcome!

Generally, the first agency to submit "owns" that traveler for that hospital. It is better to shop around first.

I've done OK with new agencies and they often pay more to build their business. Perhaps there is a bit less risk with more established agencies, but even some of those get into financial trouble. If the chemistry feels good, and the compensation and location is good, go for it!

Thanks Ned. I agree with the agency typically "owning" first submission, but I am starting to feel uncomfortable that I have been passed to 2 different people withing the agency since my application. They have pulled through with getting the interview, but after being left high and dry with support during my last contract, I am hesitant to make the same mistake working with a small agency.

Would you ever consider telling the hiring manager that you want to accept the position (if offered, of course!), and asking them if you are able to do so with a different agency? Or ask their hospital's policy on this issue? As a hiring manager earlier in my career, I know they are often overwhelmed by a flood of inbound applicants and I don't want to jeopardize the job.

Nope, I wouldn't. Possibly an extension but in either case, I myself would just move on. Lots of jobs, lots of assignments. No assignment is worth a lot of stress.

Best I can figure out is there is a human nature factor in situations like yours. You feel like you have committed and don't want to waste the effort already expended. That leads to "spending good money after bad" to save your investment. Especially if you have put all your options into one agency only. Keeping current with several agencies means you always have options if Plan A doesn't work out.

Can't advise you on what to do, I'm not even sure what your issue is or why you want this particular assignment so much.
