Hi everyone.
AHPRA has already replied to my inquiry and this email clarifies everything:
Dear Mr ***********
As per correspondence sent to you dated the 3rd of August 2012 (attached), it does state that in order to be eligible you must successfully complete a bridging program with 12 months of the date of the letter. It also clearly states that no extensions will be given.
Please be advised that on the 19th of September 2011 changes were made to the board approved English language standard, in line with this correspondence regarding bridging programs was changed to reflect that no extensions would be given as applicants no longer had to meet the standard after they completed a bridging program and therefore no extra time would be needed.
I am unsure as to why the course co-ordinator at La Trobe has been given the wrong information by a registration officer but this will be addressed.
As per your bridging letter you have until the 3rd of August 2012 to complete a board approved initial registration program for overseas nurses.
Any further questions please contact your registration officer ****************

With this, we all have to get into the program three months before our AHPRA letter expires the latest. So as much as possible, when you receive your AHPRA letter, better start looking for a school the soonest as to avoid the hassle.
Hello guys, I have a question. I'm a transferee and a shiftee from BS Accountancy (1st semester of 1st year) to BSN (2nd semester) I just would like to know if there are anyone here who are on the same boat with me? I am wondering if I will also be needing the course description from my former school even if my first course is not related at all to nursing? Thanks in advance!! :)
You don't need it anymore. Everything is transparent in your TOR, besides you are applying as a nurse. As for my case, BSN is my second course and I had many subjects in my previous course that were not related to BSN. I only provided the course description for my BSN.

This is just weird and unfair. You know why? Just last wednesday i emailed my case officer and asked if she can give me an extension letter for three months. After a day she replied and said yes without any hesitation. Yesterday i emailed her when she will send the letter and she said right away that she already sent it. They're not calibrated.

Hey man. Yeah you can appeal for an extension. Just as long as your reason is valid for consideration. In the meantime, i'm looking for schools that offer an earlier intake. If i'm not able to find an early one then I guess i'd ask for an extension. Um yeah, they're a bit off.
hello!im planning to join the October intake at IHNA too. am still waiting for the offer letter though. aren't you concern about their accreditation?it's been bugging me actually..
as far as i know, they are already have been reaccredited. so, no worries. and i asked about that in the day i was given a slot for october intake. it was actually moved to september 24 but since they got their reaccreditation they moved it back to october 8. ?
