Hello! I plan on applying for the Summer cohort for the ED. How much experience in the ED did you have? I will have about a year and worried it’s not enough! Would love any advice you have!
I had my interview yesterday and heard back today and got offered a position, good luck to everyone!

Congrats! What department will you be in? I am applying for the Summer residency Friday. Do you have any advice? Also is the pay enough for DC? My friend who lives there has me worried on it! Thank you!

I applied late so I didn't have many options but I ended up interviewing for the abdominal transplant unit. I think the pay is definitely fair, their differentials are pretty good especially compared to my other offers in the DMV area. You might not be able to live in Georgetown but I've found some places within the budget that arent too far. As far as advice, I am not sure, I applied last minute and threw my application together, the website gave me so many problems that I almost gave up. I am a Georgetown grad (not for nursing) so I talked about familiarity with the system/ area/ mission etc so IDK if that made a difference. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I applied when it opened yesterday. Asking for ER. They said they’d call us if we got an interview in January. I was offered an internship there this past Summer but I had some family issues come up so hoping they’ll give me a second shot.

I had my practicum in the ED! The interview team was super nice.

That’s awesome! My school doesn’t do practicum in ED but I’ll have over a year as a nurse extern upon graduation in the ED. Hopefully they count that. But not keeping my hopes up as I heard it’s super difficult to get in there as a new grad.
