I am trying to revamp our medicare meeting. It's still being done the way it has always been which is primarily a narrative or recap of how the residents doing in therapy ie- how many steps they are taking. Is thier guidelines that you use that you wouldn't mind sharing? I feel it should be more focused on discharge planning.
Thanks in advance for any information you are willing to share!

I thought the focus of these meetings were supposed to be problems/goals/interventions/outcomes...

As a former PPS MDS coordinator, the focus of our meetings was how long is the resident going to be on Med A and are they making progress toward the goal. A brief recap of their progress since the last meeting is okay as long as it stays focused and has some impact on their length of stay. Good luck.

We usually run around 46 skilled/mgc residents and we try to keep our meeting under an hour. We discuss primary dx for new res, therapy LCD, any nursing skilling services/teaching needing done before d/c, next ARD, current RUGs score and current LOS. Our administrator runs the mtg and we have MDS, social worker, admission director, Therapy manager, ADON and med director in attendance.
