Medical Surgical Nursing Help

Published

From the beginning of January to the end of June we are working on Medical Surgical Nursing for my LPN school. We have had two tests. I recieved an 80 on the first one in a school where below an 80 is considered a failure. So for the second test I took all steps to recieve a better grade: I studied the packet every single night, took notes, made tables, did NCLEX questions related to the material, everything I could. I took the second test and walked out feeling worse than I did after the first test. I don't know what to do. I'm begging for help here. Any books, websites, etc. that you can recommend, along with any study tips you can offer would be so helpful. I'm so nervous I'll end the year not understanding such a key part of nursing. Also, any help on how to answer NCLEX questions would be extremely helpful as well because my teacher takes a lot of her questions from NCLEX question books.

Thank you so much for reading this and helping me out :heartbeat

I suggest picking up the Medical-Surgical Nursing Made Incredibly Easy book. I just picked it up for my third semester med-surg class, and so far it has been VERY helpful. Other helpful books are the Memory Notebooks of Nursing series which have funny helpful pictures. I picked all three of the memory notebooks in DVD format on ebay for $5. I prefer the DVD, because you can print out the pages which pertain to your unit and insert them into your binder for easy access. Plus they are MUCH cheaper (vs the $35 a piece they are in book format). My instructor for my 2nd semester med-surg class referred to these many times. Does your school make NCLEX 4000 available to you? That is a great program for NCLEX questions and gives you the option to go in study mode which gives question by question rationale.

I hope this helps you! Good Luck!!:)
