I am in my last semester of nursing school and will hopefully graduate in May. Afterwards, I would really like to focus on learning some medical Spanish. I have had several patients throughout nursing school who have not spoken English, and I feel so bad for them because I know that this increases their anxiety about being in the hospital. Can any of you recommend any books, CDs, DVDs, online courses, etc. that focus on medical Spanish rather than just general Spanish? I have taken Spanish in school, but none of it focused on Medicine. I don't want to waste my money on something that isn't very helpful. I would like to hear about resources that you have found helpful. Thanks.

Many facilities offer Medical Spanish training, or you can take it independently as a CEU. One book to consider is Medical Spanish Made Incredibly Easy, which can be ordered either by Amazon or Barnes and Noble. I would also ask your school professors. Many have resources of places that offer interesting CEUs and you can have catalogs or websites where you can look to see what they are currently given; even sign up to receive updates on upcoming seminars.
