Here is a thread for those who applied to Medical City Summer 2021 Nurse Residency. Applications opened up earlier, but has anyone heard back?  Good luck to us all!☺️

Still haven’t heard anything about what we’re gonna be doing the first week. Anyone gotten any info about that yet?

I was told the first week would likely be online, except for the facility orientation in person.

Anyone know good shoes to buy for work? My ones from nursing school are ugly af ?

I got the clove shoes for graduation. I have worn them a couple of time and they are comfortable the only thing is that they crease pretty easily but they still look good.

I just received emails for background and drug test. Any one else received this too?

I went to the hospital for my interview. Seems like a nice place, not giant facility which I personally like better.

I just received emails for background and drug test. Any one else received this too?

Oh gosh, I ended up moving my test to yesterday. It was not what I was expecting. I used U World and Archer. It cut off at 75. I think I did OK. In the TX BON portal my account now says "Ready to Issue" and now the NCLEX portion of the task list is completed. It's never said that before. I also did the Pearson Vue trick and got the good pop up. Hopefully I get the results soon! I never want to look at NCLEX-style questions again ?

I've had to do the background check stuff so far, not the drug test yet.

?????? I do mines next week and am a never reck I have been doing UWorld and Hurst. I am overwhelmed when I don’t know what to expect it is mind boggling. I’m sure you passed!! I just did my drug test today yesterday I did the background check. I also completed the online onboarding with direct deposit sign up and orientation about the hospital last night. Since June 28th is my start day I was eligible to sign up for benefits.

did you receive an email about the onboarding information? 

because I haven’t received an email yet about filling that stuff out but I just got the background and drug screen email yesterday

those all mean you passed! mine did the same thing I took my exam last week, if you look yourself up on the Texas BON your license should be posted on there either late today or tomorrow, it doesn’t take very long!

Yes it came like at 9:30 the same day as background and drug test. It just comes super late you should be getting it tonight possibly

Has anyone gotten any word on what their schedule is for next week? I'm sure it varies by unit, but just curious! ?
