Medical City Nurse Residency Summer 2022 Cohort

Specializes in Nurse Grad.

Hey there! I haven't seen a thread for this cohort yet and thought I would share it, since it is coming up soon, and open this for discussion.

Anyone already landed offers? Are they still interviewing/deciding? I have a classmate that was wanting to see if it's too late

Some info:

After emails and an in-person interview, I was offered a job for a New Grad ICU position at Medical City Frisco. Would like to connect with anyone else who landed something similar. I'm getting a short amount of time to accept the offer and not sure if I want to jump the gun before interviewing for other positions. Still waiting to see if I get an offer from McKinney.

Hey there! I know they recently had their GN Bash this past Wednesday in which many locations were interviewing new grads for various departments. I am not sure how the process is with Medical City but I am sure there will be more opportunities for interviews in case people opt out of offers!

As for me, I recently had two mother-baby (postpartum) interviews for both Dallas and Irving and waiting to hear back soon for any offers. Congrats on your job offer though!

I interviewed with plano NICU and the children hospital CICU. I received an offer from the CICU tonight and have until Monday to decide

Hope you've heard back! My classmate was able to interview for the floor she works on (L&D).

Thank you, I heard back last week for offers from both places! I accepted the mother/baby position at Irving because it was closer to my house LOL. I have some L&D interviews this week with Baylor so I just accepted the Medical City one just in case. I'm glad your classmate heard back! Did she end up receiving an offer?

Hey just found this thread. Congrats to everybody on your offers. Has anybody interviewed at Medical City Lewisville or Medical City Alliance?

Just a question to those of you who have received offers, what is the hourly they are giving you? I was told that it would be $27.35 for me but I have heard from other locations that people have been offered $29. Does anybody have a clue?

I haven't heard anything. I know Parkland starts their nurse residents at $27. Have you tried negotiating? The worst thing they can say is no.

Hey there! Congrats on your offers. My classmate was offered L&D and is super excited. She really likes working in the Frisco location too.

Are you a Medical City employee by chance? Apparently they used to have stipend pay at 1200 bi weekly (which is not much at all) but not sure if they’re doing away with that and paying 27/hr with no healthcare experience.

No I’m not a pre existing employee but Medical City in Irving is giving me $27.35 to start off. The recruiter told me that they abolished the biweekly stipends just over the Summer and the no longer do that anymore! Which is great news for us!

I just received a message to schedule an interview. All the positions for NiCU have been filled. So, I’ll be interviewing for medical surgery.
