Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency

Published

I didn't see a topic for this cohort yet but the applications opened today, maybe we can keep in touch about any progress here!

I hope that's not true!  I make over double that right now.  That will hurt!  I am looking forward to the phone interviews today though. My dream job is on the line!

Specializes in OB, Postpartum, Research.

Didn't apply to the residency program, but experienced RN here who just got a job offer from a Medical City facility in DFW.  Recruiter stated that the hospital system is going through a "financial resiliency program"...which means they're hurting financially.  Pay is much lower for new positions with HCA right now, even for experienced RN jobs.

Wow that's incredibly sad. I know hospitals are struggling from the pandemic. Especially not being able to do surgeries for a while. I'm guessing that document they sent out wasn't a typo :/. I was really looking forward to the interviews.

I'm really just wondering if the interviews today are on FaceTime or an actual phone call.... Mainly for having to go through the energy of looking nice or not haha

If you have an iphone it's facetime. If not, then just phone interview!

Gotcha. Guess I should go fix my hair then? thanks!

Has anyone had their 15 min interview yet? If so how did it go?

Just finished mine with Women's Services in Lewisville. It did turn out to be a phone call, not FaceTime, and I talked to two ladies at once so it was a little difficult to hear one of them but they were very nice and easy to talk to!

Had mine for Fort Worth ICU and the lady was really nice. It's more relaxed and I had three questions :]. I think they had more time last residency and offered facetime.

Specializes in Mother/Baby.

Mine was a FaceTime but it was very relaxed and about three questions as well

Mine was less than 10 mins.  I had 4 questions and I feel like I totally bombed.  I feel so sick right now. I want this so badly and I've been told no so many times I'm getting discouraged.    I hope I didn't screw up my chances!  She didn't give a time frame but said a recruiter would get in contact with those they want to further consider for the position.

I know what you mean. I had two interviews today and I feel like I was so nervous that I bombed them both. Plus one of the interviews was on FaceTime. I was in a Superman shirt and I feel like that was showing that I wasn’t prepared. I’ve been getting rejection letters from everywhere. I really hope this works out.and I hope it works out for you too.
