Med surg new grad

I graduated May 08 I have been on a med surg floor for 6months. What is a good time to go to Home Health? I have heard at least 1yr? There are alot of Bayada jobs open in my area.

I really hated working in the hospital so I know the feeling of wanting to get out there but you really should give it at least 1 year. With home care there is no one in the house to get a second opinion from. While your waiting, try to work on your assessment skills, critical thinking skills, and organization. Those 3 things are so important in home care. Good Luck!

I was told by an agency that you need to have worked 1 yr in an acute care setting. The DON said that my 2.5 yrs in the Trauma OR setting would be enough to enter into HH.
