Med surg to home health

Published

Looking for some assistance! I'm a Med Surg RN who's been doing multiple different roles in different hospitals as a Med surg nurse for almost 12 years. I tried out home health right for about 6months and then COVID but wanted to get back into the inpatient setting to see it first hand. Anyways, fast forward to now, I'm so tired of the 12s and being confined in the hospital, I wanted to try it out again and got an offer. My question is before my pay was salary, this company is paying per visit. Because I'm the primary source of income for my family, I have to make sure I'm making at least the same.

Let's say I'm bring home between 3500-4000 every two weeks from the hospital work as a zone float RN, how do I make sure I will make around the same if I was offered $45 for routine visits, $100 for opens, recerts and resumptions, $40 1st brief and $40 2nd brief? Can anyone give me an idea of how many patients is routine to see a day to get this done? My previous company went off a points system so we were required to have so many points a day.

What state do you live in to bring that much home a pay LOL?! 😳
