I have been working on a med surg floor nite shift for over a year now. I want to try different things so I am looking for a HH position. THe only ones I can find are for peds. Not sure why. The agencies are close to me do not want to hire RNs without peds experience. I did find a couple that are close to an hr away that will. I don't want to make the full jump yet, I want to make sure I will like it. The money is less but I know that I don't want to be a med surg nurse for the rest of my life, I am already 45yrs old.
Any advise

How long have you been looking for HH positions? Might be the economy that's keeping the number of open positions down. We've got a HH sub forum here if you want to post there, they can tell you the day to day life of the HH nurse. Many of them really love their job and see it as the best kept secret of nursing.
