Hello to all!!
I was shadowing a nurse in icu/ccu and asked about the general meds kept on the floor. She told me that there are none except for Heparin. Is this true? tnks!

In the ICU units in which I have worked (or visited with students), there are Pyxis machines with many medications/ IV drips readily available (not just heparin!). Due to the acuity of these patients, a wide selection of medications need to be available on the unit for quick access for emergencies.
