Hi everyone!

Am I able to do my timed writing assignment and then come back to do my timed video essay? Also are you recorded during the timed writing assignment? I wanted to know whether to make myself look presentable or not.

Thank you in advance!

yes you can do the timed writing first then go back and do the video essay. Thats what I did but now I just have to do the video essay which I kept putting off. And no it is not recorded during the timed writing.

I'm sure that I know the answer to this but, did y'all memorize your video essay before recording or did you read it off somewhere? Every time I think I've gotten it, I get nervous when I start recording (for practice) that I forget bits and pieces.

Im here trying to put words together LOL. I feel like I'm going to be up all night trying to memorize it because that's the only way I won't mess up ?‍♀️

I spent all last night and this morning memorizing and still messed up on my video essay. Ugh the nerves got to me. I'm hoping that it won't count too much against me ?

How long do you all think is too long for the addendum? I know there's no limit, but I've gone on and on to about 3.5 pages. I'm going to try and cut it down, but it's not looking good.

Mine is 2.5 pages. As long as you aren't repeating information in those 3.5 pages I think you should be good. I would also suggest you have someone read over it and review it to help you still want to cut it down. Good luck!

Mine is only one page ? I didn't address everything just two main things even though there was a lot more I wanted to address, I just did not want to make it too long. See if you can condense everything to maybe two pages ? Make sure you address everything clearly and basically straight to the point.

I would encourage you to address everything, it's better for them to have a whole picture. My addendum last year was only a page long and there were things I left out because I didn't think they would put emphasis on but to my surprise, they did. I also did not want to make it too long. This year I did not leave anything out, hence the 2.5 pages versus the 1 from last year.

I would not make it more than 2 pages. Only because everything else we have written has been no more than 2 pages. Have someone read it over. I had a professor read over my personal statement and we were able to condense 3 pages into 2 without taking any major ideas out. You can do it!(:

For the hobbies in the resume, did anyone just list out their hobbies and put a short description with it or just only listed out their hobbies?

I remember reading one of your first posts about not including everything the first time around, so I took your advice and threw everything on the page. I'll absolutely be addressing everything LOL. I just need to be more concise and have someone look it over. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I kept going back and forth between wanting to include everything and not wanting the addendum to be too long. I ended up just throwing everything in there. I'm going to try my best to condense it though.

I had the same thought. I will definitely try to condense it to 2 without having to cut out crucial elements. Thanks for the affirmation!

Just have to say that you are all amazing. This is such a supportive group, and I hope we all get in! Manifesting it into the world and sending good thoughts everyone's way

Yes! I learned a lot from applying last year and I'm not holding back this year. I try to share as much as I can with you guys in hopes it helps everyone who reads this forum, both current and future applicants. I also had a lot more time to work on my application...still turning it in at the deadline cuz #life, managing 3 classes, work and applications is no easy feat.
