Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

I believe you just list any organization you were a member of, in the past or present. Whether it relates to the current professional field or not.

Is anyone else nervous that they have already began the reviewing process? I still haven't done the video essay yet and I'm so nervous ?

I got nervous too, and it’s completely normal. We got this! Sending you a hug! We gotta breathe ?‍♀️ and stay calm. I haven’t done my video essay either. They didn’t send out an email ? like that last year. It may be that they have less applications this year and are able to start reviewing apps sooner and/or working from home may open up more time to review hence they started early. Just my guess.

OMG yes ? I just read that email and watched the video. Ugh I need to do that video essay atleast this week I keep putting it off because im scared I might mess up.

I emailed them earlier this Summer and they said they do not review the applications until December/January. So I was beyond confused when I read that email.

Does anyone know if that means we’d hear back from them earlier than before? I think I read typically by February decisions are out but since they are starting about two months earlier I wondered if that would affect when decisions would come out

Part of me is thinking that they have significantly more applications than expected and are having to start earlier.

I feel like we might end up hearing back a little earlier since they are reviewing applications pretty early than usual. They probably have a lot of applications in already too

hmm...that's interesting...it may depend year by year...though this year they are starting really early from that email they just sent. When I applied last year my application was being reviewed late October. I got my first email about things I needed to follow up on/clarify on my application on Halloween.

At another school, the admissions office was saying they were expecting more people to apply and I can see that being the same  across schools.

I went to the combined info session of Columbia, Penn, and JH and yeah the admissions guy said they were going to start reviewing before the 1st of October even tho the deadline is the 15th
