Does anyone know what the format for the video essay is? Are they just asking us the question that is on the website or more?

Its just the question that is stated in the application that we have to answer.

Thanks!

For the travel/ hobbies & interests part of the resume, are we suppose to list these, or explain them as well?

I thinkkk we list them. I had questions about this too but I think we just list them in bullet points, but not be too vague about it at the same time. Im going to email admissions about this and ill let everyone know for confirmation!

Hey guys,

Not sure if anyone has already completed the video essay. I just finished the timed writing and saw the directions for the video essay and was kind of confused. Does anyone know what the practice question/section is about? Since we already have a question we are supposed to answer I'm not sure what that's about. Also, do we still get 3 tries for the video essay?

I didn’t do it yet but that section is to just practice before you start the actual final recording, so you get an idea what it’s like. And to also make sure your audio and mic are working fine. I think we get two attempts. Im not entirely sure though. But the question we are supposed to answer in the final attempt, is the question that is stated within the application.

Hey y’all! Do you think it’s okay to list volunteer activities I will be partaking in November and then list it as “in progress”?

Additionally, for the travel portion did you guys describe the travel part like things you did or just list the location you have traveled to? I am a flight attendant with travel experience both leisure and work and I am kind of stressed about how I should put it on my resume!

Thank you!

I completely agree with @ZMOtero on the prereqs. I applied last cycle and was waitlisted because I was missing one prereq and my prereqs were the only true sciences I had taken. If you have a strong science background and are not going to be done with your prereqs in time then that’s okay. But if you have no science background please try to get those prereqs in esp the science ones. I used portage and soon all their classes will be recorded, which is added stress, but it is what is it. Excelsior is a good option too to test out but I know a lot of other programs don’t take excelsior, if your applying to others. Good luck to everyone!
to my earlier comment about hearing back on decisions, I made an error I heard back January 25th last year.

So I have two courses in progress right now. AP 2 and MIC. I will be finished with them by December, it’s technically in progress but I will update my transcripts before admissions decision come out, do you think this will count against me as well?

I don’t think so but this will all ultimately depend on who is reviewing your application. I can speak on my experience. I basically had 3 classes in progress the Spring semester after applying. Had I been accepted I would not have had any type of break whatsoever, jumping from pre-reqs to the actual program. Looking back at it now I see how bad of an idea that was but I wanted to try so I still applied.

I am getting so discouraged, I continue to stare at my application and not submitting it because I received an F in one class back when I first started college? I retook and got a B but I am just like ughhhhh. I have an upward trend of GPA and have officially finished my BA with a 3.57 but still, I am so upset about it.
Is anyone in the same boat?? or know someone who got in with a similar situation?

Yes !! I’m in the same boat don’t worry! I put all that into my addendum and let them know that an F grade doesn’t define my success or who I am. So let them know that in your addendum ?

No don’t say that! I also have an F and I retook it with a B. It was due to mental health and personal circumstances. It’s stressing me out too, but I trust that other parts of my application will speak for itself. I mean honestly one F doesn’t really reflect who you are if the rest of your grades are good and your GPA is fine you know? I totally get the anxiety associated with having an F blemish your transcripts but we just got to trust that the admission, but don’t let it stop you from submitting your app! I believe in you!
