Hey guys! I'm so nervous! I've read every year's discussion page haha. I have a question! When I got to the homepage, it told me if I wanted to apply for the "Need-based aid," I should click on the link, but it just leads me to the homepage again. On the application, is "Data for Federal Funding" the same thing?

Did you click start new application? Because it should say “financial aid scholarship  2021” . The “Data for federal funding” is what they added to the application. But the financial aid scholarship application is the need based aid stuff to fill out.

Oh I just tried and it wouldn't let me start a new application so I emailed them. Thank you!

I haven't submitted the application and I am already losing sleep ? RIP to the next 5 months of my life

Are you applying to other schools?

Ahhhh me too! I'm taking my last prereq this fall and I'm about to celebrate after that haha. I made this account just to talk on this discussion forum! Heard that it gave people some kind of luck and I need all the luck I can get!

How long did you guys make your global initiative statement? Not sure if I have too much or too little

I wasn't able to create one myself either. If you email the admission, they will do it for you.

Thanks so much, will do!

Also, I put in my recommenders emails but they haven't received anything from Columbia. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi y'all,

I only just realized I took statistics in Spring of 2015 and not Fall of 2015 (just short of the 5 years?). Columbia says they accept classes online/at community college... do any of you have any suggestions on where I could register to take it either the second half of this semester in the fall or in the Spring?

Thanks

I just did some research and discovered portage, which seems like it could be very feasible to take and submit the course before the application is due on Oct 15 to possibly boost my pre-req GPA. Does portage look bad to Columbia admissions? Have any of you taken statistics via portage/geneva college? Is this a feasible option? Thanks so much.

I definitely recommend portage learning! Columbia told me that they accept the credits from there so it’s totally fine. I had to retake a few classes so I did them with portage and you finish pretty fast. You can most definitely take the course and finish before September is over because it’s short and doesn’t take long to finish.
