Hi everyone -
I am taking CHM130 through Rio right now. It isn't too bad...I am at the end of week 3 with a 91 in the Lab and a 98 in the Lecture, but I am worried about the BIO classes.
Within the MCCD, what schools offer the pre-reqs online and can anyone suggest which schools have the better programs?
Any input is appreciated.

I did CHM130 online at Rio Salado. The labs, quizzes, and essays are easier than the midterm and final. Don't get caught with your pants down on the exams... Review your quizzes to make sure you can do them without your book or notes, and make sure you know the answers to all the essay questions at the end of each lesson, because you will see them on the tests. They won't surprise you with questions you haven't seen before.
With the chemistry labs, if you do well enough, you can skip the last one and still get an A.
I'm currently doing BIO156 through Rio. It's mostly the same routine as CHM130, there's no math, but lots more writing is expected of you. The midterm and final are about two-thirds of your points, so you can't get less than a B+ on your exams and still expect to get an A in the course.
From what I have heard here and elsewhere, it's not very good to do your 200-level biology classes online. You miss out on too much. I am doing A&P and Microbiology at night school, so I can have an instructor, and I'm not doing my labs in my kitchen at home.
Gateway, Phoenix College, and South Mountain all offer online courses. I have not tried any of them so I can't say how good they are.
