MBA in Healthcare Management - doubts

Hello, I have a bs in Nursing, but never really worked as a nurse. After graduated I got a job in business administration, and then another in finance, did some courses related and even a Business Admin certification. After working for over 4 year in admin I was thinking about getting an MBA that could put together my Nursing degree and working experience. Is it possible to combine both for an MBA in Healthcare Management for example, and get a job in this area? Could you give me any thoughts, suggestions?

You can work in Hospital Administration without an RN license or experience ... but I strongly recommend not planning to work in Nursing Administration without some real nursing experience. To be a good candidate for a Nursing Administration position, you should actually have worked as a nurse for at least a bit. Nurses won't take you seriously as a nursing leader if you have never worked as a nurse. But you could be seen as a leader in Hospital Administration. Just don't claim any competence/expertise in nursing. Those are 2 different fields.

I am an expert in Nursing -- as are many people on this site. However, I don't know a whole lot about the field of Hospital Administration. If you want to pursue a career in that field, you should be seeking advice from people in that field, not nurses. People in that field are in a better position to give you advice on the various options within their field.

And by the way ... and MBA is a Master's Degree in Business Administration -- a specific academic degree. It's not a generic term for degrees in other fields, such as Hospital Administration or Healthcare Management. Each is its own separate field.

These options you mention are all in different fields -- just like Nursing is different from Physical Therapy ... or Pharmacy ... or Laboratory Science ... or Medicine ... etc.

Oh thanks, that's true about the MBA, I've made a mistake, I meant Master.

I thought I could find many nurses in Hospital Administration positions, as the Nursing field is so wide. I started my research now, I will probably look for more information about the Hospital Administration, but maybe some nurses who have experience on that could give me some hand.
